Cerebral circulation disturbances represent one of the leading causes of disease incidence, disability and lethality. Stenotic changes of carotid arteries often lead to cerebral ischemia, transient circulatory attacks and acute ischemic attacks. At NRICP 70 patients have been preoperatively examined and carotid artery stenting data obtained by means of MRA and multispiral computed angiography have been analysed. The results indicate a high clinical/diagnostic efficiency of tomographic methods in planning and evaluating carotid artery stenting, specifically in determining the location and degree of vascular stenosis, as well in evaluating restenosis after stenting.
