Russians’ evaluation of the national «Education» project: from expectations to reality

The National Project “Education” serves the national goal of providing opportunities for self-realization and development of talents, set by the President of the Russian Federation. This project is fundamental and affects every citizen of our country. At the same time, the share of residents who are aware of it remains low for a number of years, and the level of public confidence in the results of the national project, vision of the problem areas in the implementation and sources of information are also insufficiently studied. Thus, a contradiction forms between the knowledge of the need to identify and analyze the population's feedback on the implementation of the national project and ignorance of the ways to carry out these actions. It is not possible to manage national projects without knowing how they are carried out and evaluated by the final recipients - the citizens. As part of this paper, the results of a case study carried out by a team of authors between August and September 2022 are presented. Conclusions are drawn about the degree of citizens' awareness of the provisions of the national “Education” project, the main sources of informing the population are identified, the degree of confidence in the results of the implementation, the challenges for further improvement are also defined.
