Assessment of consent to causing harm to the life and health of participants in sports competitions in the modern criminal legal doctrine

From the point of view of the main criminal legal standpoints, the article attempts to analyze and summarize the scientific literature on the problem of legal regulation of cases of harming the participants in sports competitions. A variety of legal positions of scientists on the issues under study is noted. The absence of a unified legal position is stated. A brief analysis of the main directions of the development of criminal law science is given with regard to determining the legal nature of situations related to harming the life and health of athletes and participants in sports competitions. The author draws conclusion about the insufficient theoretical elaboration of the investigated problem.
