Due to the abundance of unreliable and fake information, it is often difficult for both adults and children to distinguish where the truth is in the news and where it is a lie. In order to do this, you need to be able to analyze information and know how to check the source. However, most often these skills are lacking in young people, especially in schoolchildren. At the same time, children who are additionally engaged in the field of media, for example, write in a children's and youth newspaper, work more with news, which means, in theory, they will have more developed news literacy skills. To check this we interviewed students of grades 9-11 from a regular school and those who are engaged in media in places of additional education.
