This article examines the means of evaluating the representation of a person's intellectual abilities in modern English, and also identifies evaluation units reflecting the level of a person's intellectual abilities. In the study, we have identified evaluation units that form the evaluation categories genius and idiot in the language. Intelligence is understood by us as the ability of a person to think, make decisions, correctly use their abilities to successfully perform a certain type of activity. The intellectual abilities of a person include many components that are interconnected and implemented when performing various social roles.
