The results of the studies of the electronic structure of oxide hot cathodes by the field electron spectroscopy method are presented. Within the framework of the «spotted cathode»model, the spectra of a single emission spot with a record-narrow FWHM of ≈ 100 meV are measured. The spectral parameters are established, the minimization and alignment of which are necessary to create a highly monochromatic oxide thermionic cathode with a FWHM of the spectrum of emitted electrons of ∼ 100 meV.
