Octreoitide - depot in a prophylaxis and treatment of the pancreatic fistulas

From 2011 to 2012 we used Octreitide-depot in treatment of 34 patients. The patients were divided in 2 groups: 1st - the development prophylaxis and 2-nd - treatment of external pancreatic fistula. In the first group Octreoitide-depot was used by 17 patients: 4 in complex treatment of hard pancreatitis, 13 after pancreatoduodenal resection. It was also 17 patients in the second group: 7 cases of patient after different types of pancreatic resection, 10 patients after external drainage of pancreas. We get positive effect after drug usage at 88,25% (30 patients): 17 patients at prophylactic treatment, 13 patients at treatment of external pancreatic fistula. Prophylactic and therapeutic usage of Octreoitide-depot facilitated uncomplicated postoperative time (13 cases) and healing of external pancreatic fistulas in 5-7 days (13 cases). Usage of Octreoitide-depot could be recommended as prophylaxis of pancreaticojejunoanastomosis inconsistence after pancreatoduodenal resection, in complex hard pancreatitis treatment, and also in external pancreatic fistulas treatment after pancreaticoduodenectomy and percutaneous drainage of postnecrotic pseudo cysts.
