Online-marathon as a pedagogical technology for the development of university students’ supra-professional competencies

The intensification of technological progress and the socio-economic instability caused by the global pandemic are leading to increased attention of the pedagogical community to the use of digital tools to realize the goals of professional education of students. The article proposes the use of an online marathon as an effective modern technology for the formation of supra-professional competences. The authors present the results of a pedagogical experiment on the development of emotional intelligence within the framework of 4 online marathons. The data obtained confirm the significance of the results and preliminary evidence of the effectiveness of the application of the studied technology in the development of supra-professional competencies. The advantages of the online marathon in the free entry and exit of the participant, flexible timing, accessibility from various parts of the world and the availability of a wide range of applied pedagogical tools suggest an increase in interest in it from the part of professional education stakeholders.
