Online teaching of Russian as a foreign language: problems and solutions

Digital technologies and online learning are progressing successfully and are in increasing demand. COVID-19 contributed to the development of online learning of Russian as a foreign language, as many students were forced to leave Russia and study the language online. The purpose of this study is to consider the advantages and problems of online learning of Russian as a foreign language. The authors analyzed the existing problems and offered the ways to solve them. The article proposes an original online model and methodology for teaching Russian as a foreign language. The characteristics of the model include: focusing on the principle of deriving pleasure from online learning and updating the concept of teaching. The priorities of the model and methodology include the use of situational tasks and a task-based approach. A conclusion is made that the online model is especially important for teaching Russian as a foreign language.
