The Article deals with proper names in the works by famous writer J. Tolkien. Any writer, creating a novel or fiction constructs the world for his persons to. This world is not identical to the real one even in the most realistic books. Fantastic works J. R. R. Tolkien remain pseudo-real in spite of many details, forced at making the reader everything described is true to fact. To achieve that J. Tolkien invents many fantasy place-names and names of races inhabiting this unreal world as well as personal names. But still the reader does not believe in the reality of events.
