Opportunism in Russian banking sector: causes and consequences

The paper deals with institutional characteristics of the Russian banking system, which stimulates opportunistic behavior of economic agents. It brings up an issue of necessary changes in the ownership structure, in control, and management with the purpose to decrease the costs caused by the opportunistic behavior of the economic agents.
