Definition of the banking system as an object of legal regulation in the Russian Federation

The article is developed to the concept of banking in the Russian Federation. The legislative definition of the banking system is analyzed, the institutional structure of the banking system in the Russian Federation is considered. The author explores possible criteria for classifying elements of the banking system. Proposals are made to improve the Russian legislation on banks and banking activities.
