Definition of basic values and their significance in the field of physical culture and sports

Relevance. At the present stage of development of society and the state, it is important to increase the level of human capital. As a result, it is important to form a professional and personal value system of specialists. Special attention should be paid to this aspect in the training of specialists in the field of physical culture and sports, since their activities are related to the issues of personal education and the formation of its worldview. It is important to understand what professional and basic values guide Russians, especially the younger generation, as this is one of the markers that determine the state of society as a whole. The aim of the study is to find out the basic values underlying the professional competencies of specialists in the field of physical culture and sports. Research methods. Development of a questionnaire with the proposed list of basic values, open questioning, statistical processing using MC EXCEL (calculation of average values and standard deviation), description and comparison of results. Research results. The survey identified and compared the preferred core values of future and current specialists. The continuity of values from generation to generation and a relatively small choice of professional values with a preference for personal ones were noted. Health (16% of respondents among students and 18% among specialists), family (21% and 15%, respectively), love (19% and 9%, respectively), as well as faith and unity with God took the leading positions among the preferred basic values. Basic values such as pleasure, material possessions and, unfortunately, cooperation are the least popular.
