Optimization of methods of radiodiagnostics of temporo-mandibular joint damages

Analysis of clinical, radial and intraoperational data of 48 patients with fracture of mandibular condole was conducted. The results of the research have shown that Х!ray examination without usage of contrast substance is less effective than computed tomography (CT) due to the fact that it gives lower information volume. To trace pathological changes of bone elements of patients with mechanical injury of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) one should start with CT. The following usage of magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) should take place when there is a necessity to determine the character of injuries of joint's soft tissues. The research has proved that in case when fracture line is situated closer to mandibular condole than to middle line the degree of condole dislocation and injuries of joints soft tissues is higher.
