Optimization of bachelors’ training of art and pedagogical education institutions in the methodology of teaching visual arts

The article examines the actual problem of Optimization of Bachelors' training of art and pedagogical education institutions, the formation of their knowledge, abilities, skills and competencies in the discipline of “methodology of teaching visual arts”. The authors analyze the results obtained during the approbation of the developed textbook on the history of art education (visual arts), consisting of two chapters (the history of foreign and domestic art education), taking into account the adjustments of the working program of the discipline: changes in the content of modules that make up the academic discipline; the list of questions to prepare for the credit and examinations; criteria for assessing students' knowledge and their abstract papers; list of recommended literature. As a result of the experiment, it was revealed that the introduced developments significantly influenced the improvement of the quality of education and the development of creative activity of first-year students of the art and pedagogical faculties of some related universities.
