The disability of persons with hearing pathology creates significant social restrictions for their life, including the communicative barrier. Nowadays in many civilized countries, including Russia, there is a tendency to create more comfortable conditions for people who are deprived of the opportunity to move, see, hear and speak fully. The sign language for a hearing person is a foreign language, the study and development of which requires significant mental effort. The RSL differs significantly from colloquial speech in its dynamism and specificity. The modern methodology of the RSL teaching involves exercises developing dactylology skills, studying materials aimed at mastering students’ lexical and grammatical skills, improvement of dialogic speech and translation skills as well. However, nowadays there is a shortage of educational and methodological instruments in the methodology of teaching the RSL, especially with regard to the practical aspects of teaching, and training exercises are often based only on traditional methods and techniques. So, the article attempts to analyze the content of available educational and methodological video materials containing both traditional the RSL teaching methods and author’s ones.
