Optimization modelling as a tool for managing the economic stability of regions

The article presents an optimization model for managing the economic stability of the region. The developed model makes it possible to diagnose the hazard index, analyze the dynamics of its change, evaluate the contribution of one or another indicator for given threshold and optimal values to the overall situation. For modelling we used indicators of economic stability in the context of the main spheres of life: investments, production, science and employment. Testing was based on the statistics data of Sverdlovsk Oblast for 20012016. We gave an example of calculating the hazard index as an integral, which allows assessing the hazard level for the studied set of indicators. Calculations were made for the three options of indicators. An analysis of the dynamics of the hazard index for the third option makes it possible to trace the growth of crisis phenomena in the economic state for 2007-2009.
