Moral education of the younger generations is considered as the main task of the education system at a new stage of social development, a fundamental basis for the formation of personality. The need for new means and methods of training teachers for moral education of students is substantiated. Models of implementing moral education of schoolchildren in China are considered: by specially trained teachers (including within the framework of the subject “Morality and Law and Order”) and subject teachers. The advantages and disadvantages of the isolated use of these models are highlighted. The experience and trends in the development of the system of training current teachers for work on moral education in China are presented. The directions of strengthening the training of future teachers for work on moral education in pedagogical universities of the People’s Republic of China and Russia are identified. A conclusion is made about the formation of a comprehensive system of training teachers in the field of moral education in China.
