Experience of interdisciplinary integration: criminal procedure in English

Introduction. In the modern higher school when studying a foreign language is an integral part of professional training, the necessity to build interdisciplinary links is evident. The relevance is determined by the influence foreign legislation has on the Russian criminal proceedings. The aim was to build communicative skills and skills of professional communication in English. Materials and Methods. The methodological basis for formulating the provisions comprised theoretical works and conceptions in theory and methods of professional education, certain provisions developed by individual authors when studying the practice of usage of technologies and tendencies of learners’ motivation development. The research employed pedagogical observation, interviewing, questioning, method of expert assessment. Taking into account various extra-curricular events the surveys covered over 100 cadets of the Omsk Academy of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Results and Discussion. The authors show the examples of events of different forms; reveal their content, features of arranging and conducting them, analyze the outcomes. The systematic events conducted during several years prove their effectiveness. The experts note that after being tested the cadets showed skills and knowledge corresponding to the higher level of training. Conclusions. Introducing and conducting interdisciplinary events in the course of studies such as inter-chairs meetings of the scientific club; open interdisciplinary lessons; scientific conferences; writing annotations; preparing essays, reports, presentations with elements of comparative analysis including tables, charts and diagrams developed by the students; making up and solving the situational tasks prepared by the teacher and case-studies increase the level of language proficiency.
