The paper focuses on the involvement of folk craftsmen in the process of vocational training of the Bachelor’s Degree students majoring in Folk Art Culture. Based on the analysis of educational literature, the study defines the purpose of vocational training of the Bachelors of Arts and Crafts that is to develop cultural and professional competence among students in order to preserve and develop ethnocultural traditions. The paper describes the stages of vocational training of Bachelors of Arts and Crafts. The research notes the importance of collaboration between students and folk craftsmen who are the bearers of the traditions of the folk artistic culture, the creators of artistic images and custodians of people’s worldview. While working with folk craftsmen, the students realize the real world of a created item, the depth of its content, simplicity and beauty. It is pivotal to check every stage of creating a handcrafted item by a student together with a folk craftsman. As a result of such a learning process, students will produce items of high artistic merit without craftsman control, manage their creative activity and contribute to the preservation of folk art.
