Experience of Patriotic Education of University Students (On the Example of “Baikal State University”)

The article presents the experience of patriotic education of students on the example of Baikal State University. The work considers modern challenges to patriotic education in the conditions of information war and global transformations. The study is based on the content analysis of the university news feed for three academic years (2022–2025), the study examines thematic directions, forms, methods and participants of patriotic events. The key areas of educational work include spiritual and moral education, historical and local history education, civic and patriotic education, military and patriotic education, heroic and patriotic education, environmental and sports-patriotic education. The civic and patriotic area is dominant, and there is an increase in practice-oriented forms such as volunteer activities and sports competitions. The analysis reveals active student involvement and the use of in-person events. A SWOT analysis has been conducted, and the strengths and weaknesses, threats, and opportunities of the university's patriotic education system have been identified. This work demonstrates a systematic and comprehensive approach to fostering patriotism and civic engagement among young people in the educational environment.
