Use of Rey - Osterrieth complex figure for neuropsychological assessment of cognitive deficit in patients with primary psychiatric disorders

According to the literature and empirical research considered the potential of the use of the Rey - Osterrieth Complex Figure Test in the assessment of cognitive deficits in patients with schizophrenia and affective disorders. We discuss the differential diagnostic value of quantitative and qualitative indicators in the context of primary and differential diagnosis of primary mental disorders. Comparison of these groups of patients and comparing them with normative data on the parameters of constructive skills and visual-motor memory reveals moderately pronounced decrease constructive skills in a group of patients with schizophrenia, whereas the difference in the parameters of visual-motor memory does not reach statistical significance. It is concluded that the impairment of visual-motor design skills, visual-motor memory are typical only for some patients with schizophrenia, and even to a lesser extent, in patients with affective disorders, so the possibility of applying this method to solve problems of differential diagnostic neuropsychological evaluating limited.
