Experience of Police Officer’s Social Interaction in a Multicultural Environment as a Subject of Psychological and Pedagogical Study

Introduction. Law enforcement activity of a police officer takes place in constant interaction with citizens, organizations, services, civil institutions, which determines the high importance of the studied type of experience in the professional activities of a police officer. The prerequisites and theoretical foundations for studying the experience of social interaction of a police officer in a changing multicultural environment are outlined. The goal is to show the benefits of the experience of social interaction of the student as an educational result in the context of the implementation of the competency-based approach in professional education. Materials and Methods. Domestic and foreign publications on philosophy, sociology, pedagogy, psychology, systems theory were studied within the framework of the research problem. The author analyzes psychological and pedagogical aspects of professional activity, features of social interaction of police officers in the new social reality, educational practice of universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The content of the process of teaching psychological and pedagogical disciplines from 2015 to 2019 was studied. To determine the essential characteristics and system parameters of the experience of social interaction, systemic, activity-based, culturological approaches, theoretical analysis, and modeling were employed. Results and Discussion. Experience is a holistic result of a man’s practice in society. The experience of social interaction is an activity-personal resource of a police officer under conditions of increasing complexity and uncertainty of the social environment. Structural components include value-semantic core, thought and activity and regulatory-activity components. Factors of formation involve subject composition of interaction; goals of interaction; subjective meanings of interaction; the content of the interaction; implemented ways of interaction. Formation mechanisms cover penetration into the depth of social relations, revealing new knowledge of social reality and oneself in it. Stages of technique of pedagogical enrichment of experience are as follows: actualization and differentiated enrichment of elements; concentration (shortening and compaction of functional links); accumulation and crystallization. Conclusions. The essential characteristics and professional features of the content of the business interaction of a police officer in modern society are specified and theoretically substantiated; the concept, structural components of the experience of social interaction as an integrated and holistic educational result as well as the stages and mechanisms of the technology of its pedagogical enrichment are explained; the significance of the experience of social interaction of a student in the context of the implementation of federal state educational standards is determined and substantiated. The results of the study should be used to improve the process of social education and upbringing in educational institutions of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
