Organization of laboratory research in the field of veterinary medicine in the Russian Federation

The article presents and analyzes the results of laboratory studies in the field of veterinary medicine, carried out in 2015-2019 by state veterinary laboratories of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and federal institutions of Rosselkhoznadzor. During this period, laboratories annually conducted from 103 to 114 million different types of research. The positive results in this case ranged from 1.8 % to 2.6 %. There has been a trend towards an increase in the acquisition by laboratories of normative documentation, new types of instruments and equipment, an increase in the number of new modern research methods mastered and introduced into practice. Most veterinary laboratories verify the methods used in the laboratory, which is also one of the criteria for quality control of the research. Analysis of the reports showed that state veterinary laboratories are developing, the professional level of specialists is growing, and the material and technical base of laboratories is becoming more powerful every year. At the same time, further improvement of the structure of the veterinary laboratory network of the Russian Federation is required in order to increase the efficiency of laboratory research in the field of veterinary medicine.
