Museum activities are significantly expanding beyond the traditional understanding of their role as custodians of cultural and historical heritage. Museums are becoming modern educational, outreach, socioeconomic, and event- tourism institutions, actively using various forms and methods of connecting with audiences. Museum- reserves occupy a special place among these unique cultural spaces that provide the opportunity to study history, art, ethnography, culture, gastronomy, biodiversity, and other fascinating resources. Museum activities are now expanding beyond the preservation of cultural and historical heritage. There is a trend toward implementing events that are organically integrated into core activities and serve important functions: they become an additional incentive for visitors, contribute to developing area attractiveness for tourists, and make a positive region image. In Primorsky Krai, the museum- reserve, part of the V. K. Arsenyev State United Museum- Reserve of Far East History, is of particular importance. It annually updates its event agenda. This paper examines the theoretical and methodological aspects of organizing eventfulness within museumreserves and presents the dynamics of this development at the regional level and within the Far Eastern Federal District. The research novelty lies in the authors’ interpretations of the concepts “museum- reserve” and “event,” as well as in the comprehensive analysis, which allows proposing practical recommendations for designing and implementing events of various levels and scales.
