Organizing Coordinated Interaction in Design and Technological Preparation of Production through Information Integration of Business Processes

Free access

This article examines a new model for the coordinated interaction of organizational and technical systems at a mechanical engineering enterprise. This model is based on an information component that links the results of functional modeling of design and engineering preparation of production (DEP) with the enterprise’s business process administration mechanisms. In other words, it provides a link between the spreadsheet model and the workfl ow management system with role-based access control (RBAC), accounting for execution routes, time limits, and personnel qualifi cation levels. It is expected that the model will be integrated into a modern PDM/PLM environment (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, SmarTeam), supporting a unifi ed enterprise information space and enabling all design and engineering departments to signifi cantly reduce the time spent working at product lifecycle stages.
