The article reveals the organizational and methodological foundations for the implementation of the academic discipline “Parasitology and Invasive Diseases” in the process of professional training at a university for specialists in the field of “Veterinary Medicine” in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard for Higher Education. The article analyzes the features of the structure, logic of the stages of building and implementing the academic discipline, and effective ways of forming its content. The article also highlights the importance of using educational technologies in the content of lectures and practical classes, based on the extensive use of multimedia presentations and interactive methods. Particular attention is paid to the description of the methodology for organizing students’ independent work and preparing course projects as part of research work using the resources of the university’s electronic information and educational environment. The article substantiates the expediency of using a point-rating system for evaluating the results of students’ academic activities, which allows for an objective assessment of the level of development of professional competencies. The article also identifies promising areas for further improvement of teaching this discipline in the professional training of future veterinary doctors.
