The article is devoted to the disclosure of the most effective organizational and pedagogical conditions for teaching younger schoolchildren the rules of safe behavior on the road in extracurricular activities. The effectiveness of teaching traffic rules in primary school conditions depends on the content aspect of the subject-developing environment, the relevance and practical orientation of the developed program of extracurricular activities for the study of traffic rules, the quality of planning and organization of interaction between school and family, schools and other social institutions on issues of safe participation in traffic. The paper presents the possibilities of using different forms and methods of teaching children of primary school age the traffic rules in extracurricular activities.
