The article examines the influence of vocational education on the country's national security system, which in modern social conditions is a pressing problem. Analyzing the latest strategic planning documents and regulations of the President of the Russian Federation, the authors discuss the challenges facing the vocational education system, the solution of which should ensure the process of sustainable development of the economy and society as a whole. Attention is focused on the fact that, firstly, in terms of training, it is planned to carry out a set of measures aimed at creating a flexible personnel training system capable of eliminating imbalances in the labor market. Secondly, taking into account migration processes, planning documents pay special attention to educational work in professional educational organizations, which should be based on traditional Russian values and be aimed at raising a socially oriented individual. The special role of vocational guidance (at all levels of education) in staffing the labor market is highlighted, which is illustrated by the example of two new large-scale projects currently being implemented: the Unified Model of Career Guidance and the program to popularize the federal project “Professionality”. In conclusion, the authors make a reasonable conclusion that at the level of state strategic planning documents, the dependence of the achievement of national priorities on the effectiveness of the personnel training system is established.
