Ornament as an educational material and a source of creativity in the professional training of costume designers

The article is devoted to the study of the role of ornament as an educational material and a source of creativity in the professional training of future costume designers. Ornament as a phenomenon of traditional culture has long attracted designers, which contributes to the enrichment of their creativity. Hence, in recent years, special attention has been paid to the study of ornament in specialized universities and various approaches and ways of studying it have been developed. This article presents the experience of studying traditional ornament in Kazakh universities aimed at training modern costume designers. The methodological features of the study of the Kazakh ornament and its application in costume design are revealed on the example of the creativity of famous designers.
