Бесплатный доступ

The article deals with linguistic description of linguistic manifestation of nobleness in English and Russian cultures. The authors have established that the attitude towards noble behavior is ambivalent: on the one hand, this quality is considered as concentration of human values, on the other hand it is ironically criticized as unreal and often denigrated by manipulators. The authors claim that the most specific feature of English cultural view of nobleness is its connection with chivalry whereas for Russian speakers being noble is predominantly behaving in a disinterested generous way.
