In order to understand modern problems of the system of Russian education, to correctly choose the priorities of its development, it is necessary to pay special attention to the historical, cultural, scientific and educational traditions of the end of the 19 th and the beginning of the 20 th centuries, the period which is characterized by the existence of a great number of theoretical ideas and which determined the creation of general theoretical and methodological basis of the Russian pedagogy as a science.
