The main aspects of the criticism of the transhumanist ideas

The modern civilization is at a critical stage of development. For decades, scientists emphasize that the humankind must change its development strategy. The stage of transition of a human civilization to a qualitatively different state of its evolution is connected both with positive and negative trends in human development. New human enhancement technologies that will lead to overcoming the aging and death create not only new opportunities but also generate risks. Respectively, the ideas which are the cornerstone of human enhancement, including the transhumanist ideas, are discussed and criticized. Introduction of technologies for improving the human capabilities that can lead to overcoming an old age and death is connected with the discussion of violating the borders of a measure which will result in the loss of human nature. The research notes that there is no point to deny the prospects of human enhancement; an objective assessment of various technological impacts on the person is required. The person should adequately respond to the technological challenges, as at the present stage of the development he is not ready for it yet.
