The article describes stages in establishment and development of Higher Education in People’s Republic of China. Statistics of Chinese universities and number of students from 1996 to 2019 are presented. Main peculiarities in the present higher education system are underlined. Perspectives of International Educational Cooperation in Higher Education are presented based on the example of Changchun University of Science and Technology and North-Eastern Federal University.
