The main directions of development of the market of non-wood forest food resources in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

The experience of a number of Russian regions and foreign countries shows that forest food resources play an important role in the economy of rural areas, including the food program, income and employment of rural population. A significant contribution to the employment of the rural population can be not only procurement activities, but also the creation of local processing industry enterprises, which contributes to solving social and economic problems of the country’s forest territories. With the growing shortage of environmentally friendly products and the aggravation of the food problem in the world, the importance of forest food resources in the diet of people and their demand in the food market is increasing. The article discusses non-wood food resources of the forest of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), argues the importance and necessity of studying the main directions of development of the market of non-wood food resources of the forest. It is concluded that it is necessary to study the use of non-wood forest resources as an independent object of economic research and to assess its significance for the economy of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The assessment should be carried out according to the highest priority factors depending on the functional purpose of the forest area.
