Basic approaches to the development of an electronic textbook and the peculiarities of educational work with it

The concept of an electronic textbook is considered, what modern requirements it should meet, a software for creation of electronic textbooks, and the wide opportunities that electronic textbooks provide for the educational process and for self-education. The advantages of the introduction of electronic textbooks into the educational process in higher education in comparison with the traditional methodology are emphasized. The features of educational work with an electronic textbook are considered in order to intensify the educational process, increase its effectiveness and quality of education.
