Main approaches to the study of life strategies in foreign and Russian science

The article touches upon the concept of “life strategies”, which is widely used in various scientific disciplines, but lacking a single definition. The authors of the article make an attempt to systematize the main theoretical approaches to the study of this phenomenon, presented in Russian and foreign science. In many ways, research in this area is based on the concept of “life course studies”. Foreign authors primarily use the dynamic concept of individual behavior and decision-making as the main theoretical framework. Russian researchers, in developing the issues of life strategizing, emphasize subject-activity and systemic-institutional directions. In general, the approaches available in modern science to studying life strategies are very diverse, and their individual elements can be combined in various ways depending on theoretical and practical research tasks.
