Major threats to security in Central Asia and the role of the SCO

The article analyzes the main problems that pose a threat to security in Central Asia, contemplates the cooperation of the SCO member states in addressing these threats, especially joint efforts to combat the “three forces of evil”: terrorism, extremism, and separatism; it also considers joint SCO projects to address the problem of drug trafficking in the region and activities aimed at eliminating environmental threats in the region.
