Main issues and problems of building socialism in Russia

This article presents a historical and methodological approach to the study of the historical and economic experiment of the victory of the October Revolution of 1917 and attempts to build socialism and implement a new economic policy in the former Russian Empire. This experiment lasted for 70 years and due to incompetent management of the economy of the USSR ended in failure and the collapse of the country into a composite structural fifteen independent states-former republics within the Soviet power. The article is of an overview nature and includes, according to the authors, an indication of the main strategic mistakes of the state leaders, which led to sad consequences, which historians and economists are still trying to understand.
