This article analyzes the peculiarities associated with the quality translation of medical texts, identifies some lexical and grammatical difficulties of medical translation. The authors discuss the translation problems that might arise when the texts for translation are not authentic. The article also provides a few examples of coping with such difficulties and presents recommendations for translation of individual medical lexical units.
