Features of adhesion of fluorine-polymers to carbon-saturated steel surface under continuous co2 -laser radiation. Model quantum-chemical method

The cluster models of surface adhesion interactions between fluorine-polymer macromolecule (for example, fluorine-caoutchouc) and hydroxide-containing centers of carbon-saturated steel surface, which take a place under CO2-laser radiation, have been calculated by MNDO-PM/3 method with geometric optimization. It is shown that above-mentioned interaction may result in formation of strong adhesion bonds not only in case of destruction «surface metallic atoms - OH-group» bonds, but in the case of breakage of OH-groups from surface carbon atoms.
