Features of associations and ideas of future physical education teachers regarding the basic concepts of the field of physical education and sports

The aim of the work was to determine the features of concepts and associations of physical education and sports in future physical education teachers. A survey of 323 students was conducted. The possibilities of forming students' motives for self-improvement and professional physical education and health activities were studied. The structure of students' ideas about the main sphere of physical education and sports was shown. It was determined that the structure of students' ideas is characterized by a wide spectrum. It was found that 14-22% of students associate physical education with the object of study. The indicator of defining physical exercises as a form of organizing movements among students of all courses increases from 24.4% in the first year to 27.1% in the fourth. Almost half of the respondents believe that training is a type of activity. It was found that a significant number of students do not have a clear idea of the basic concepts of physical education theory.
