Formation of law enforcement-related concepts in situation of artificial bilingualism

The author focuses on peculiarities of concept-formation in situation with learner-bilinguals who study at the MIA educational institutions. The psycholinguistics approach used to describe linguistic phenomena is considered the most reasonable and effective. The specifics of law enforcement-related concepts in linguistic consciousness of a police cadet is revealed via reconstructions of these concepts on the basis of analyzing scientific texts, respondents’ associations, detective stories. The results of the attempted research prove the influence of some components of the studied concepts on the formation of these concepts in linguistic consciousness of an artificial bilingual in learning environment. The author finds it necessary for the teacher to create the conditions for expanding the meaning, semantic and associative fields behind a word in the bilingual’s consciousness.
