Today, there are two types of hotels on the hotel services market: hotel chains and independent hotels. The peculiarity of hotel chains is centralized management, standardization and unifi cation of the hotel product, control over compliance with the developed requirements of the chain and, as a result, orientation to a large circle of consumers. Independent hotels usually have their own unique concept, developed directly for a specifi c hotel, orientation to a specifi c group of consumers. In today’s hospitality landscape, travelers are looking for a unique and personalized experience. Boutique hotels, known for their unique and authentic conditions, distinctive design and exceptional service, meet this growing demand. In the article, the authors provide an analysis of the international boutique hotel market, identifying the characteristic features, problems and prospects for the development of this segment of the hotel business. The author of the article notes that this format of hotels is more focused on a certain consumer segment that values personalization, quality and non-standard approaches to the technologies of providing hotel services. The author of the article examines in detail the modern approach to classifying the main types of boutique hotels, and consider the most interesting and authentic boutique hotels in Europe, North America, the Asia-Pacifi c region, and the Russian Federation. As a result, the author draws a conclusion about the development prospects of this segment of accommodation facilities in the format of modern tendencies and trends.
