Features of social networks using in English lessons in high school

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the didactic use of virtual social networks in teaching English in high school. Relevance of the topic due to the increasing computerization of education, its individualization and mass inclusion of students in the use of social networks. We solve the problem of correlation of the free and the informal nature of social networking, pledged their ideology and the need to fulfill the formal rules of foreign language teaching. The novelty of the work lies in the fact that virtual social networks are seen as a means of teaching students English. In this paper the author concludes obvious benefits of using social media in teaching English in conditions of informatization and computerization of both education and society as a whole. Advantages of using social networks allocated by the author: the opportunity to combine classroom and independent work, ensuring the continuity of the educational process, a combination of formal and informal interaction between the teacher and the students, individualization of teaching, the implementation of interactive forms of learning.
