Features carnival traditions of Belgium (culturological aspect)

In the article the author discusses the features of the carnival traditions of the Kingdom of Belgium on the example of the people’s carnival festivities in the town Letary Stavlë (Stavelot) Province of Liège (Liège). It is noted that the active support of the state of carnival traditions and folk-carnival festivals guarantees the preservation of the ethnoidentity of the society as an integral part of the reproduction of the cultural genome. Cultural aspect of understanding the specifics of the carnival tradition includes reflection on her laughter component and the nature of communication participants of national holidays, as well as the importance and significance of the characters, with their premises of origin and socio-semantic meaning, as well as their distinctive identity of symbolic images with bright explicitness costumes and masks specific to the individual carnival festivities.
