Features of design and application of the improved gastric catheter for extraction of ferromagnetic foreign bodies from cattle forestomaches

The article presents the results of research on the development, study of technical capabilities and application of the improved model of magnetic gastric catheter for the extraction of ferromagnetic foreign bodies from cattle forestomaches with traumatic reticulitis in the conditions of industrial technology of milk production. The aim of the research was to improve a magnetic gastric catheter for the extraction of ferromagnetic foreign bodies in traumatic reticulitis in cattle. The development and production of the improved model of the magnetic gastric catheter was carried out at the Vologda SDFA, and its technical capabilities were studied on agricultural enterprises of the Vologda region by comparing it with industrial analogs. The proposed improved magnetic gastric catheter eliminates damage to the tube with a kapron cord and loss of the magnetic head. The proposed magnetic gastric catheter is a plastic tube 35 cm long, with an outer diameter of 3.5 cm and an inner diameter of 2 cm. This model of the device was used to successfully treat 224 cows with traumatic reticulitis.
