This study is devoted to the study of the deep dependence of Africa's largest economy, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the commodity sector and pronounced institutional fragmentation, which creates a difficult investment climate. In this context, the corporate management systems of leading national and multinational corporations are compelled to develop unique, adaptive strategies that fundamentally deviate from classical governance models adopted in OECD countries. Achieving sustained competitiveness and increasing shareholder value in this environment necessitates not only the deployment of technological innovations but also the establishment of a highly effective risk management architecture specifically designed to mitigate critical institutional costs. The study is empirically grounded in the analysis of key corporations-Geregu Power PLC (energy sector), BUA Cement (construction materials), and Seplat Energy (oil and gas)-which represent a pivotal cross-section of corporate management specificity within sectors critical for the state's economic diversification.
