Features of the personal sphere and level of prognostic ability of cadets of the Academy of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service as factors of their adaptation

This article discusses the results of the research of personal peculiarities (accentuations of character, extraversion-introversion, sound judgement-intuition, logical thinking-feeling, sound judgement/planning-impulsivity, control locus level), behavioural trends, prognostic abilities of the cadets of the Federal Penitentiary Service. It is shown that for the individuals dealing with extreme activity there are objectively determined distinctions of these or those features due to the type of activity (specialty), gender, age and tenure. Thus, the subjects dealing with extreme activity of correlation with internality in achievement field and field of failures besides the traditional internality have general internality which is closely connected with behavioural tendency “suspiciousness” (according to Leary T.) and planning (according to Keirsey D.). The primary “feminine” trait among future military officers is friendliness, as for future officers of penitentiary service, it is altruism. There are gender differences according to some indicators revealed via Mann-Whitney criterion, for example, girls have higher indicators for “humble-shy” tendency. Personal prognostic abilities are directly connected with personal adaptation as it is them and striving to forecast the events, search of the necessary algorithm which help to feel more confident, contribute to personal psychological comfort and objectively lead to greater personal adaptation.
