Features of mediatization in health sphere under the conditions of new coronavirus pandemic

The article analyzes the mediatization in health. According to the author, this aspect has not received wide coverage in scientific discourse. However, under the context of the new coronavirus pandemic, when health has become a priority topic in public access, its study is revealed. The author proceeds from the main approaches to the analysis of mediatization, identifies three types of media in the field of health: 1) institutionalized; 2) informally expert; 3) informally banal. As the article states, the transformation of the communication space and the study of new media technologies open up wide opportunities for popularizing medical knowledge, including informing the population about the alleged health risks and ways to overcome and prevent them, which in general, increase people's medical literacy and form a health-saving ideology among people. However, this process has an ambivalent impact in a multichannel and commodified health field, as the prevalence of non-institutionalized forms provokes the spread of destructive practices in relation to health. Consequently, it is important that the concept of public health is formed and elaborated, the essence of which is to manage the mediatization of the health sector.
